COWORKING SPACE : People working together in any environment, Sharing services and spaces. People who want to work from wherever they are and the flexibility they get is what making coworking spaces more efficient. For students, freelancers, business meetings and startup offices coworking spaces are the best, owner or coworking organizations put it on lease and as these spaces are situated in shopping malls, cafes, commercial buildings, it gives more flexibility for the user to not only sit still 9 to 5 a day having the same view all week long.

“Let the user be free and flexible to work .“

As these spaces are more engaging and interesting there are some key points that need to be taken care while designing a coworking space.

  1. Furniture Layout- While designing the space most important part is the layout of furniture, there should not be chaos, properly arranged furniture will make the space not only organized but will help the user to work in a better planned manner. Moreover, what type of furniture are you using in that space matter a lot. Office furniture have to be comfortable to let user enjoy and make best of that space and time.
  2. Natural Light- Make sure that, natural light you are using in your workspace matters with the user’s productivity. Dark, clumsy areas have low productivity. Always try to plan out spaces which welcome natural light as it will not only revitalise the user experience but also cut-off electricity consumption.
  3. Colors- Make the space colorful, let the user look around and always find something new to get inspiration. Color boosts productivity, creativity, focus and concentration – meaning they impact psychology of the user. Create patterns, paint walls with encouraging thoughts which not only boost the energy of that space but will help the user to feel motivated and focused.
  4. Ventilation and Other Services- Coworking spaces are utilised by many people and also caters many services so it is natural to feel suffocated. Try to have Double heighted area where maximum gathering is planned out. HVAC systems include all of the equipment used to ventilate, heat and cool the building; to move the air around the building (ductwork); filter and clean the air. These systems can have a significant impact on how pollutants are distributed and removed. Other Services should not hinder in user workspace. Make a smart and efficient electrical layout so that the user should not suffer for outlets.
  5. Storage and Security- While Designing a sharing space, provide maximum storage, dual use furniture or smart furnitures which do not take more space but provide you with endless possibilities. Provide Locker storages for regular users. For security reasons install Cameras, Digital pincodes, planning of that particular area, it should not be visible to everybody and should be properly under surveillance.
  6. Accessories- Either furnish the space theme based or put accessories which interact with space and beautify it. Put some fresh natural plants to let the space feel lively. Decor it with motivating elements.

The possibilities of coworking space are escalating with the digital timeline giving more flexibility to the user and allow them to work under a common roof providing, more opportunities and trouble free environment to work in.
